KEXP Studio to Host Local Musicians’ Performances During Bumbershoot 2016

Bumbershoot and KEXP 90.3 FM today announced an expanded partnership and shared the names of the artists who will be perform at the radio station’s new home on the Seattle Center grounds during the 2016 version of “Seattle’s Festival,” scheduled for Sept. 2-4. Among them are electro soul/funk duo Fly Moon Royalty, rising trip-hop artist DoNormaal, and renowned Seattle musician and producer Erik Blood.

“We’re excited to open our new home on the Seattle Center Grounds to the Bumbershoot crowd and we’re thrilled to curate a stage featuring some of our favorite local bands,” said Kevin Cole, KEXP’s Chief Content Officer. “KEXP and Bumbershoot both have long histories of introducing Seattle, and the world, to phenomenal new musicians. This deepened partnership gives Bumbershoot guests even more opportunities to discover and experience great new music.”

Performing in the gathering space at KEXP’s new home at 472 1st Ave N, which opened in April, are the following:

  • September 2: Snuff Redux, Fly Moon Royalty, DoNormaal, Chastity Belt
  • September 3: Pony Time, Manatee Commune, Lemolo, Dude York
  • September 4: Lisa Prank, Thunderpussy, Erik Blood, Deep Sea Diver

Performances at KEXP will be open to all Bumbershoot attendees. Festival passes are on sale at bumbershoot.org.
