Sounds a little crazy, right? GigTown will throw a $5 tip in your jar every time a user Checks In at your gigs. We know you must be thinking, “This can’t be real”, but trust us – it is. Below you’ll find a bunch of info on how you can start making more money at your gigs, no strings attached.
FIRST OFF… WHAT IS GIGTOWN?
We’re glad you asked. GigTown is a mobile app that connects local musicians, venues and fans – We make it incredibly easy to discover what shows are happening around town, listen to local artists and even book them for events straight from the app.
HOW CAN GIGTOWN AFFORD TO PAY OUT ALL OF THIS MONEY?
We decided to put our marketing budget towards musicians instead of giving it to radio stations, marketing agencies or Facebook ads. We are here to support local musicians and this is the best way we know how!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?
GigTown is funded by a lot of really cool people who support local music. Some of GigTown’s investors include NFL Quarterback Drew Brees, Ralph Whitworth and a bunch of other people who love local music and are on your side.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR GIGTOWN?
We imagine a world where local artists, venues and fans are all connected. Artists need easy access to gigs, venues need easy access to artists, and fans need easy access to all the local shows in town – not just the big ones with national touring headliners. We are building an eco-system for local music, and it starts with supporting the artist. When someone downloads the app and ‘checks in’ at a show, they now have access to your songs, show calendar, and can even book you for a private gig right there on the spot! It’s a total win-win-win.
WHAT IF MY GIG WASN’T BOOKED THROUGH GIGTOWN?
Doesn’t matter! All you need is to create an artist profile (free) and add your public shows to the GigTown App, which is super easy to do. Or you can email your entire schedule to GigTown and we’ll input the shows for you.
WHEN DO I GET PAID?
We will send you a PayPal deposit every Friday. Don’t have an account? Get one here.
HOW LONG WILL THIS LAST?
We have set aside $20,000 / month and will continue as long as possible. But, it won’t last forever so take advantage while you can!
SOUNDS GOOD, I’M IN. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
First thing you need to do is create an artist profile. For that, all you need is a photo, a youtube link and a song. Once you have a profile set up, download the promo graphics and you’re good to go!
