Downstream Music Fest Returns for Third Year on May 10 – 12

In the last year or so the northwest has said goodbye to a few popular festivals such as Sasquatch and especially Upstream, the one that was created to give the local scene a much needed shot in the arm. Running counter to Upstream of course was Downstream Music Fest another festival that focused solely on local talent. With Upstream now gone Downstream has the stage to themselves and since it’s one of only a handful of music fests that uses only local musicians, it’s more vital than ever.

The 3rd Annual installment of Downstream will take place on Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12 at Darrell’s Tavern. That’s right, rather than the cozy confines of an outdoor theatre or several small clubs, Downstream will happen over three evenings at a bar on Aurora who’s slogan is “Where your Dad used to drink.”

As always, Downstream features a diverse mix of local bands who have yet to break through to the larger festivals but are destined to do so soon. Tickets for each night are $10 at the door for 7-9 performances depending on the night.
