Delta Rae to Bring Their Epic Live Show to The Crocodile

We talk about a lot of shows on this website, mostly because we love live music and we want as many people as possible to get out and experience it for themselves.  Some of the bands we haven’t seen so we politely urge fans to get on out. This band however demands something a little bit more. They’ll be playing at The Crocodile on April 6th and this is a must not miss show.  You HAVE to go. Their live show is full of energy, creative instrumentation and superior musicianship.

Delta Rae is a six-piece band hailing from Durham, NC and they are currently in the studio working on their second full-length album.  While Delta Rae’s unique musical style may be difficult to classify, Time Magazine did so perfectly in their Band To Watch profile; “In theory, Delta Rae’s music is Americana folk rock. In practice, it’s a bit more complicated: bluesy and soulful, sometimes gentle and melodic, sometimes aggressive and visceral -and always rich with textured four-part harmonies. From howling gospel-inspired choruses to mellow bluegrass-tinged guitar riffs, everything’s fair game.”

Delta Rae’s debut album, Carry the Fire, garnered them a lot of attention with their single “Bottom of the River” and their most recent EP, Chasing Twisters was released in November and is available on iTunes.  The EP includes the blazing title track, which Rolling Stone deemed “heroic” as well as “Run,” which was featured as the iTunes “Single Of The Week” upon release.  Their single “If I Loved You” features Lindsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac and brought the band a lot of attention on radio nationally.

Opening the show will be Nebraskan Joshua James.
