Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires brought the LOVE to Timber!

Saturday July 26 Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires performed in the beautiful surroundings of the Tolt River – John MacDonald Park in Carnation, Washington. Their performance was the highlight of the 2nd annual Timber! Outdoor Music Festival which offers a variety of music, camping, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and a whole lot of fun into a family friendly three-day weekend.

Charles Bradley has become one of the amazing soul singers and performers on the legendary indie record label, DAPTONE RECORDS out of Brooklyn, New York. DAPTONE specializes in Soul, Funk, Gospel and Afrobeat artists, and along with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and the Budos Band, Charles Bradley has made a name for himself as one of the superstars of the Soul revival.

His band, the Extraordinaries play some very tight arrangements in support of Charles Bradley, that when he Bradley hits the stage, he is in complete control of the audience. Charles Bradley sings about LOVE in capital letters. The man exudes a pure gift of heartfelt soul, singing passionately with undying exuberance.

The audience was swaying and groovin’ to his sexy brand of soul and funk. The show is so damn hot that there was a marriage proposal in the audience with Charles Bradley bringing the couple on stage for a first dance as he serenaded them. Everyone simply loved his performance; men, women and kids were mesmerized by his stage presence.

As I was leaving after the performance, I overheard one woman say to her man “That music makes
me feel like making a baby, that was so F’ing sexy”. That pretty much sums it up!
