Plastic Picnic is a Brooklyn based band comprised of four Pacific Northwest transplants. The duos – Lute and Panerio, and Hunt and Taylor – developed their styles playing in separate Seattle/Bellingham projects (Learning Team & Clone Wolf). It wasn’t until moving east that the pairs were brought together by a mutual friend. Instantly compatible, the group shared a taste for lyrically forthright indie rock paired with driving 80’s rhythms, sweetly spun melodies and atmospheric synth and guitar work. The four piece teamed up with Producer/Engineer Ted Young (Kurt Vile, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Sonic Youth) to record their upcoming debut release—the first single being well recieved singles “Nausea in Paradise” and “In Your Mind”.
Residing in Seattle, live electronic duo Cuff Lynx reaches deep into the world of analog sound. Crafting a dark, rigid voice that’s suitable for disco clubs or basement bars. Equipped with guitars, drum machines and swelling synth leads the music is recreated live and unique to every performance.
Eastern Souvenirs is the recording project of Seattle-based songwriter and producer Brian Fisher. It began in early 2014 as a bedroom recording project utilizing Nepalese, Indian and Sri Lankan percussion instruments sent back as gifts from Fisher’s in-laws overseas. There is a distant world-folk influence in the arpeggiating classical guitar interludes that’s hard to put your finger on geographically and an immersive backdrop of analog synthesizers and mangled samples.
Eastern Souvenirs debut album “Green Valleys” is set to release in early 2017 via BIG BLDG RCRDS.
