Pearl Jam and KEXP Banding Together to Fight Homelessness

KEXP has partnered with Pearl Jam in advance of their sold out Home Shows at Safeco Field on Wednesday, August 8 and Friday, August 10 to join in the band’s fight against homelessness in Seattle. These shows are about shining a spotlight on the problem and solutions to homelessness in our hometown and joining a growing list of businesses, individuals, government agencies, and foundations who are collaborating to tackle the biggest public health crisis to hit our community in recent history.

On Wednesday, August 1st, tune in for music throughout the day from artists who have experienced homelessness or housing insecurity, including Patti Smith, Kurt Cobain, Charles Bradley, and more. You’ll also hear spotlights of local organizations working to combat homelessness in Seattle (see list below). On the Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole, we’ll air an in-studio session with Badb, a Seattle-based musician who will share their music, as well as their experience with homelessness in our city. And then Mike McCready of Pearl Jam will join Kevin Cole for a special guest DJ set and to talk about what this cause means to the band.
