75 Bands in 75 Days – Day 63: The Chasers

The ChasersLadies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we’re showcasing some of the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, at least one band per day, leading up to December 31st, to ring in a new year. This list is in no particular order and it is not a chart or a countdown. It’s merely a list of bands or musicians that we feel are worthy of checking out. The band for day 63 is a band from Seattle called The Chasers.

From our review of Knife: “The first time through the debut album by The Chasers might have you trying put your finger on who they sound like. Good luck with that. This is a unique band that has developed a sound all their own. From hard-driving guitar to thunderous bass lines with a badass drummer keeping perfect meter, they are very much in your face, straight ahead, meat and potatoes rock and roll, with a slight twist. There is nothing over-produced on this album…and we thank them for that.”

The Chasers’ loud, energetic and pop sensible songs have big, memorable hooks most recently broadcast live on the new CW11 show “Band in Seattle.” Aside from deeming The Chasers “the new state band,” Duff McKagan (Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Loaded) has gone on to call the band, “KILLER! They are an original… really” in Seattle Weekly.
