75 Bands in 75 Days – Day 33: Born of Ghosts

Born Of GhostsLadies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we’re showcasing some of the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, at least one band per day, leading up to December 31st, to ring in a new year. This list is in no particular order and it is not a chart or a countdown. It’s merely a list of bands or musicians that we feel are worthy of checking out. A band with fantastic  sound, Born of Ghosts is the band for Day 33.

Born of Ghosts have created a thunderous, dark and sweet brand of rock n’ roll that has earned them a spot in the reemergence of blues rock in the Northwest. Born of Ghosts have taken raw, guitar-driven rock to the next level in their debut LP, Torch, recorded by Chip Butters (Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Sunny Day Real Estate, Quasi, NOFX) at ButterSound Studios in Everett, WA. Led by frontman Jesse Schmidt, the album punches listeners with 90’s-soaked chord progressions, 60’s psychedelic blues, and gritty vocals reminiscent of early, heavier Soundgarden and even Mother Love Bone.

The band has performed with the likes of The Last Internationale, The Eeries, The Grizzled Mighty, and many known regional names, Born of Ghosts has every intention of carrying their torch along with the next wave of guitar-toting rebels and outlaws. They have great groove and we look forward to hearing more from these guys.
