50 Bands in 50 Days – Day 45: Whitney Mongé

50-50-FEATURED

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the waning days of 2015, for our last entries in 50 Bands in 50 Days, where we’re highlighting some of the best bands in the Pacific Northwest one day at a time. This showcase is brought to you by GigTown. Today we’d like to use our power to turn you onto one of the finest musicians coming out of Spokane, Whitney Mongé.

Based out of Seattle, Whitney Mongé is a singer-songwriter with an easy-going, but passionate sound. The busker-turned-Seattle darling plays a light style of guitar-driven music that’s heavily indebted to everything under the sun – blues, folk, adult alternative, but perhaps the biggest influence in Mongé’s sound is soul music.

As a solo musician, Whitney Mongé has released just two studio projects, the full-length LP Heartbeat, as well as the more recently-released Steadfast EP. The quality of her music has caught the attention of a bevy of other reputable Seattle musicians, like Grace Love and Ayron Jones, whom she’s played shows with. Mongé is an artist that we definitely see making a meteoric rise in the Seattle music scene if she can hit hard with a great LP come 2016.
