Please check out Verity Credit Union, our great partner in the 100 Bands in 100 Days local music showcase.
Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.
Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured artist is The Lesser Disciples.
The Lesser Disciples are a blues-based hard rock band from Seattle fronted by Steve Freeborn (former owner of several music venues including the O.K. Hotel), Patrick Gray on lead guitar(Francis Nash), Dave Rees on bass (Malfunkshun, Skindiver), Mike Hommel on drums (All Hail the Crown) and Joe Rabenscroft on keyboards.
This group of PNW music scene veterans got together and created The Lesser Disciples in 2017 and while they are still a bit early on this journey, based on the sounds that are coming from them so far, this project should be a lot of fun to watch come to fruition.
Although they don’t have a huge catalog online yet, based on what we’ve heard so far we’re pretty stoked to see what this talented group of veteran northwest rockers has up their sleeves for us in the coming year. Take a listen at Soundcloud to get a taste of what they are up to recently and keep in touch with them on Facebook HERE.
