Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our sixth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’ll be showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about. For the fourth year in a row, the showcase is once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene on there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured act is Stay Grounded.

About the band:

As stated in their bio below, Stay Grounded is a band that is at the top of their game right now both musically and spiritually. The deep grooves you’ll find when you plug into this band’s music will hook you and have you wanting more. Powered by the roots of island music but blended masterfully with elements of R&B and and just the right amount of rock, the band has found their calling card. Give them a listen and we’re sure you’ll agree that they are one of the premier bands of this genre, both in the northwest and beyond.

“Stay Grounded is a hardworking, eclectic group of disciplined musicians who range in age, ethnicity and style. Trailblazing their way onto the scene in 2011, Stay Grounded incorporates their Pacific Northwest heritage, with an exotic blend of modern pop, R&B, and rock, infused with a sweet island reggae twist. Their music delivers powerful messages of love, unity, positivity and empowerment to all who bear witness. Born and rooted to the indigenous music of the world’s people, members of SG have studied traditional Ukulele and Hawaiian harmonies, the sacred arts of both conga and djembe, classical percussion, jazz saxophone and choral and R&B vocals.

Stay Grounded has shared stages with luminaries such as Matisyahu, Collie Buddz, House of Pain, Everlast, The Green, The Expendables, J Boog, Common Kings, Katchafire, Anuhea, Maoli, Jordan T, Natural Vibrations and many more!
