Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured band is Moon Letters.

About the band:

Moon Letters was formed in late 2016, by members of various Seattlle area progressive groups (Wah Wah Exit Wound, Panther Attack!, The Autumn Electric). Their live debut came in Summer 2017, at the 4th annual Seaprog Festival, and opening for psych-rockers Pinkish Black in Seattle, on the US leg of their tour. The performances led to coverage in the long running, east coast publication, Progression Magazine, as well as various art-rock podcasts. The last year has been spent recording new material, along with the release of various member’s projects, leading up to a full length LP to be released in early 2019.

If you have the need for more prog-rock in your life, today’s featured band should fit the bill. On Moon Letter’s EP released in June of 2018, they deliver ample amounts of high-voltage progressive influenced jams coupled with ethereal harmonies. The self-titled, four-song offering allows the band to display their superior chops and with a full length coming out early next year, there’s little doubt they have NW prog fans chomping at the bit. Give the EP a listen HERE where you can also download it for free.

Moon Letters will be playing at Sunset Tavern on November 27 with Spontaneous Rex and Dream Logic. Get show details HERE.
