Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured artist is Wild Ire.

About the band:

Today’s featured band has a great sound that we think you are gonna dig. Coming out of Salem, Oregon is the band Wild Ire, an explosive alternative rock band, evolved from drummer Nick Turner and guitarist Jesse Palmer, when they met in the summer of 2014. Immediately for the next coming months they honed in on their sound while going through several line up changes to find the people with the talent and determination to build what they had a vision for. Soon came Jacob Mayes, to add his rhythmic guitar lines, and his siren like melodies. Taner Jones, entered in the realm of low frequencies, ensuring that the rhythm section would be nothing but powerful. All throughout 2015, they played from Salem to Portland to Vancouver and Olympia, to share with everyone they music. In late that year they went into the studio to record the debut EP.

Fast-forward to 2018 and the band now has a pair of EPs under their belts, as well as a full-length album, Antisocial Butterfly. On top of that, they’ve been busy recently releasing several singles with videos which are garnering great responses. That’s led to offers to open for touring bands regularly. The band is hoping to plan a spring/summer tour next year!

Check out their high-energy rock number, “Pho Kit” at the player below the photo or click HERE. The band is tight as hell and if you dig Rage Against The Machine, you are probably gonna love this one!

Catch them live:

They’ll be playing October 10, (that’s tonight) at Goodfoot Pub & Lounge in Portland. Get show information HERE.
